2019 Halloween Walk at Mark Twain Lake

It’s that time of year again when the Indian Creek Campground at Mark Twain Lake is full of family fun and spooky decorations. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Mark Twain Lake Chamber of Commerce are proud to announce the return of the Annual Halloween Walk Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19.  Event times are 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Friday and 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Saturday.  The Halloween Walk is a great chance for the little ones to “sharpen their trick-or-treating skills” and for the older kids to come see what all the excitement is about!  Everyone is invited to come in costume.  Pets are not allowed in the event area.  The Indian Creek Campground is located south of Monroe City.  Take Highway 24 to State Road HH.  Follow the signs to spooky fun!  And don’t forget a flashlight to light your way on your journey around the campground.

The Mark Twain Lake Chamber of Commerce will be accepting a parking fee of $5.00 per vehicle for each night of the event to help provide visitor safety services and to cover other incidental expenses related to the event.  Only registered campers who have paid a camping fee and show their correlating white vehicle hang tag issued by the Fee Booth upon campsite registration will be exempt from this charge. Having exact change upon approaching the event will help expedite wait time and reduce long lines at the entry point.

The Fox and Eagle Point loops will be closed to all vehicle traffic during event hours.  In order to provide a safe experience for participants and visitors, event organizers request that pets be left at home.  At this time, all reservation campsites have been reserved; non-reservation campsites will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis, in person only.  If you need additional information about the event, please contact the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center at 573.565.2112 or email us at marktwaininfo@usace.army.mil
